About the event
12:30 PM – Meeting Point & Start of the Visit
Participants will meet in front of the entrance to the Galerie Negropontes (Palazzina Masieri) to begin the guided tour. Participation is limited to 25 attendees per time slot.
12:45 – 1:30 PM – Palazzina Masieri Architecture & Exhibition Tour
Located along the Grand Canal, Palazzina Masieri represents a unique case in Venice where modern architectural experimentation is embedded within the historic fabric of the city. The building’s complex history brings together two of the most influential figures of twentieth-century architecture—Frank Lloyd Wright and Carlo Scarpa—whose visions shaped its evolution from an unrealized memorial project into a refined modern intervention completed in 1983.
The visit will explore Scarpa’s architectural design, where spatial sequencing, material detail, and light define a sophisticated dialogue between past and present. The tour also includes access to the current exhibition “Reflections on Brancusi”, presented by Galerie Negropontes, where photography and sculpture engage with the architectural setting. Together, the experience highlights how architecture and art intersect, creating a continuous exchange between historical legacy and contemporary practice.
2:00 – 3:30 PM – Venetian Networking Lunch
The program continues with a traditional Venetian networking lunch in a local restaurant, where participants will reconnect with fellow PBFD attendees from parallel off-site activities. The lunch features a curated selection of regional dishes paired with local wines, offering a guided food and wine experience that reflects the richness of Venetian culinary tradition.
End of Program: approx. 3:30 PM
